When Evil Shows Its True Colors

David Sulcer

Passage: Revelation 9:1-12

Prayer: Father, for evil to be conquered it seems it has to come out into the open to be seen for what it really is. For too long it has lurked in the shadows and found its sustainability by remaining in the dark. But one day, even more so now than it is, you will flush it out into the open like demon locusts upon the earth. And although it will strike the world with tormenting stings and unrelenting trauma on the day you call its bluff, sadly, most of the world will simply harden their hearts and remain in their sins! Indeed, the very angel of death, who has been allowed a voice before your throne has been muted, cast out and defeated by the Cross of Christ. But now, this arch enemy of humanity has been loosed upon the earth since Heaven is no longer allowing him entrance! He can’t stand to be trumped by the God of Heaven so he cast those of his own kind into the torments of his own judgment, just like Pharaoh did to his own people in Egypt. Sadly, not only is the human heart full of rebellion, impurity and wickedness, but also the very planet we live on is reeling in chaos. The Destroyer has come and his fury runs throughout the world like an army of wasps, intent on harming all in their path. Destruction has raised its ugly head like a black hole of anti-creation and anti-matter! And yet it will be short-lived, for the knowledge of God shall cover the world one day, like the waters that cover the ocean; and evil will be no more! In Jesus’ name, AMEN.

Ponder: Why do you think it is important for evil to be exposed for what it is? Why are the horrors of the holocaust, for instance, that Hitler perpetrated against the Jews, so important to be seen with the eyes so that more will embrace the need to prosecute anti-Semitism?
