We Need To Pray

Mike Ferrante

Passage: 1 Timothy 2:1-7

Prayer: Lord, there is no greater hour to lift our voices to you.  The time of callous hearts is rising.  We are more prone in this day, to be drawn to the darkness and allure of this world more than any time.  Lord, when we talk to you, the power of the greatest king of the cosmos is at our forefront.  We are attuned to something we could never experience in this physical world.  We need to tap into this power everyday, as much as we can during that day.  As this passage directs, our leaders need prayer, our teachers and spiritual pastors need prayer.  Our family and those we love need us to talk to you about them.  Only then will we have the courage and compassion to talk to them about you!  Let us not be silent any longer.  Even when we don’t seem to be getting anywhere in our prayers, that is the time we need to be ever diligent in praying.  For with every prayer, our “self” is being eliminated and our spirit is surrendering to you, Oh Lord; thus we become able to hear the one thing we desire above all – your voice.  It was this voice that gave St. Paul all the authority to bring this divine love and power to all the Gentiles surrounding Israel.  We pray, Lord, in your name: Jesus.  He is the mediator, the one who died that we may come to the throne of grace with confidence! AMEN.

Ponder: How has your prayer life been lately?  Do you understand the importance of prayer and intercession?
